Robert
(Bob) Webb’s
formal career began at the
Alberta
College of Art in Calgary, Alberta in 1963. After receiving a Fine
Arts Diploma, he furthered his studies and received a Fine Arts
Degree, majoring in painting, from the University of Lethbridge.
There, he won an art award.
Since then, Bob has had a
number of shows—both group and solo in well known galleries. He has
shown in
Oregon,
Calgary, and Lethbridge. The
Alberta
Foundation for the Arts have four of his paintings in
their permanent collection. The
University of Lethbridge
also purchased a painting early in his career. Many painting
are appreciated by individuals in their private collections.
Robert (Bob) Webb is devoted
to making art. He has been quoted as saying, “It is not what you
paint—it is how you paint it.” He has painted a wide range of
subject matter including churches and bridges of Lethbridge. His
technique changes as the subject matter demands. However, it
is his passion for the human form that drives his art. Bob’s work
shows mastery of line and colour. Bob resides in Lethbridge. |
